Ashton Krug of Troop 6 in West Chester celebrated his Eagle Scout achievement at his Court of Honor ceremony on June 4 at the Chester County Council Boy Scouts of America in Exton.
Ashton is the son of Rebecca Martin Krug, formerly of Duncansville, and Steve Krug. He is the grandson of Kathy and Jim McIntyre of Duncansville and David (Eagle Scout 1959) and Diane Martin of Roaring Spring.
For his Eagle Scout project, Ashton built a passenger bench at the Historic West Chester Railroad from a 900-pound set of train wheels. Ashton has been volunteering at the West Chester Railroad for five years.
As a railfan, Ashton has photographed and filmed steam trains in Colorado, New Mexico, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware and many parts of Pennsylvania.
He developed his interest in steam trains in Hollidaysburg at the Everett Railroad eight years ago.
