On the first weekend in June, the last ninth-grade class from Logan Junior High School was reunited after 42 years.

"Logan was a smaller school than Keith or Roosevelt thus we as a class felt a very strong friendship bond that lasted

that many years," said Tom Marasco, one the the committee members.

"The committee who planned the event knew if this would happen that our "mates" would come from all over and that they did. We had 10 states represented: Utah, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Maryland, Georgia, Delaware, New York, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

"During the planning the committee decided that we wanted more than just getting together, we wanted to make an impact on the community, and that we did by raising $1,500 for the Miracle League of Blair County."

Other committee members were Linda Campbell, Terry McGinnis, Chris Nagle, Deb White Utesch and Kathy

Good.

The committee created a Logan Class 80-81 Group page on Social Media thus we were able to communicate with our mates through that platform. With use of multiple search engines we were able to locate over 95% of our class. Over 80 posts were made during the planning period to build anticipation for this once in a lifetime 42 yr reunion. We were fortunate that at least 8 teachers and administrators were able to come."

The reunion kicked off on Friday the 2nd at Slingers Throw House owned by a class mate Brian Lucas.

From there, the group visited Taps on 2nd owned by another mate Kurt Farabaugh and lastly one of the committee members had an after hour party at their house.

On Saturday, the group started at 4 p.m. at Logan Elementary (formerly Logan Junior High) and did a walk-thru of the building. The evening culminated at the Buccinese Club for dinner and entertainment for the evening.

"We wish to thank all the company sponsors. Without their generosity this would not have went as well as it did," Marasco said.

Sponsors of the reunion include: CWP, Marasco Dentistry, Zajac Law, Envie Formals and Fashion, Slingers Throw House, Taps on 2nd, Buccinese Club, Cumming Motors, DeGennaro Used Cars, Glass Mender, Grandview Meats, Platinum Wealth, Seltzer Financial, Copy Rite, Mike's Court, Jack and George's, Penn Crest Bank, Wingate Hotel, Benders Auto and finally donations by the class itself.e Wagner and Doug Chadbourn.
