NEWRY — St. Patrick's Annual Festival in the Shade will be held Aug. 11-13. This year's theme is St. Patrick's Festival in the Shade - Rooted in Community & Education.
The festival, a fundraising event for St. Patrick's School, is held in and around the school on Patrick Lane, Newry. The festival will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. Aug. 11-12 and from 3 to 7 p.m. Aug. 13. Those attending are urged to bring chairs and/or blankets for seating.
St. Patrick's flea market will be held in the school gym; veterans can register to win a special prize. This year, the quilters, crafters and the history of St. Patrick's will be located in the hall, which is accessible from the parking lot. The festival features music, food, crafts, games of skill and luck, baked goods and raffle tickets for 50/50, baskets, a fire ring, quilts and wood carving that will be made on the ground Friday, Aug. 11.
Entertainment on Aug. 11 includes Tim Klock chainsaw carving art from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and Bone Jacked on stage from 7 to 10 p.m. On Aug. 12, the Horseshoe Cloggers will entertain from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Full Kilt will take the stage from 7 to 10 p.m. On stage Aug. 13 includes 3 Four One from 3 to 4 p.m. and the Moore Brothers from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Raffle ticket drawings will begin at 6:30 p.m.
