LORETTO -- The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art will hold its Monte Carlo-themed gala, benefiting the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 22, at the Altoona Grand Hotel, 1 Sheraton Drive, Altoona.
Reservations are required by July 14 and can be made online or by contacting the museum or any of our Gala Committee members.
Buy your tickets now and invite your friends for a night of French Riviera style glitz, glamour, gaming and giving back.
Enjoy a special room rate on king and whirlpool rooms by mentioning "SAMA Gala" upon calling the Altoona Grand Hotel at 814-946-1631. Once again, the gla committee and SAMA staff have planned a fabulous evening to include a Monte Carlo casino, elegant decor, live music, dining, cocktails and dancing. Guests are encouraged to wear fashionable formal attire, ala South of France, black tie -- if you choose.
The evening will be filled with music, laughter, hors d'oeuvres, dinner and an open bar. The auctions will feature art and sculpture, unique garden features, dream vacations, excursions and overnight stays such as a Fallingwater private tour and nearby cabin retreat and more.
Celebrity blackjack dealers will guide players through the games, and with each win, they will earn chips that can be redeemed for a variety of amazing prizes.
Follow the Facebook page for announcements of who will be your dealers. In addition to the casino-style games, there will be a silent auction featuring items donated by local businesses and individuals, as well as spirits from Excise Distillery, gourmet cuisine, drinks and live music by Uptown Jazz.
The annual gala is SAMA's largest fundraiser and helps to support its five museums that bring art education programs to all, including local school districts and centers for veterans.
For reservations ($225 per person) and details regarding gala table sponsorships, becoming a patron and placing ads in the program, contact the Loretto office at 814-472-3921 or shampton@sama-art.org or visit www.sama-art.org and like the museum on Facebook and Instagram @SAMAloretto.
