HOLLIDAYSBURG -- The Hollidaysburg Area Public Library has announced its activities for July.
The library will be closed Tuesday, July 4.
n Canasta and Mah Jongg games are held at 11 a.m. Mondays. Beginners are welcome.
n Maker Mondays are held all day Mondays in the Children's Room. A station will be set up with a different craft, challenge or activity each week.
n Kindness Rocks will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Mondays. All are welcome to paint rocks to help spread kindness in the community.
n Needlework & Arts Group is held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Bring your own materials and projects for this crafting club intended for adults.
n Twisted Stitchers meet from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays. Bring your own project, yarn and hooks; spend time with other crafters.
n Legos in the Library will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Fridays. Bring your imagination, the library will supply the Legos. Intended for children ages 5-12.
n StoryWalk in Hollidaysburg: Hollidaysburg Community Partnership and Hollidaysburg Area Public Library invite you to enjoy our StoryWalk in downtown Hollidaysburg. Enjoy "The Belonging Tree" by MaryAnn Cocca-Leffler, complete an activity sheet and return it to the library for a free book prize. StoryWalk will run from May 27 through Sept. 5.
n Summer Reading Storytime and Craft will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
n Weather with Christy Shields, WTAJ Meteorologist, 1 p.m. Thursday, July 6. Meet Christy and share stories, crafts and STEM activities.
n Author Visit with Matty Giuliano at 3:30 p.m. Friday, July 7. Author Matty Giuliano will visit the library. Matty will be joined by his pet ferret, Stubby, and will be reading his new children's book, "Stubby's Story."
n Fish and Ms. Jessie, Blair County 4-H, at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 13. Join Ms. Jessie from Blair County 4-H to learn about fish. Participants will make their own "fish goggles" and maneuver through an underwater landscape.
n Paws to Read will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 15. Meet and read to pets from the Central PA Humane Society. Children ages 5 and older are welcome with their caregivers.
n Craveable Creations: Scratch from 1 to 4:30 p.m. every Wednesday from June 14 to July 26. Students ages 12-18 can join us as we make homemade breads, pie dough, tortillas and pizza dough. Each class will cover food safety and different culinary skills. $5 per class, 4-H members are free. No experience needed. This class fills up fast so register now by emailing pennie@halibrary.org.
n The library's "All Together Now" Summer Learning Program for children, runs through July 30. Stop by the library, follow on Facebook and check out the website for the schedules and details of all the fun events happening this summer, including experiments, activities and fun with guests from the community every Thursday.
n Women Writers Book Club will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, to discuss "Verity" by Colleen Hoover. No signup is necessary.
n Mason Bees and Ms. Lisa from Blair County Conservation District, 1 p.m. Thursday, July 20. Ms. Lisa from Blair County Conservation District will talk about mason bees. These super pollinators work alone, but like to nest in groups. Make a mason bee house to take home.
n Learn a new language with Ms. Pope, French Teacher, HASD, 1 p.m. Thursday, July 27. Participants will explore the French language and culture as they sing, dance and play games.
n Fan of the Banned Summer Book Club will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 27. This month's book selection is "Their Eyes Were Watching God" by Zora Neale Hurston. All are welcome, no signup is necessary.
