Cub Scout Pack 3331 of Hollidaysburg collected new and gently used coats, hats, boots, gloves and socks for all ages as a part of the boys' Duty to God requirement. The Scouts handed out flyers to friends and family members before the event and helped organize the items on the day of the collection. The community donated more than 300 items that were forwarded to the American Rescue Workers of Blair County and Cove Forge Behavioral Health Center for distribution to those in need. Cub Scout Pack 331 is sponsored by St. Michael's Church and meets during the school year in St. Mary's Social Hall in Hollidaysburg. Boys from kindergarten to fifth grade are welcome to join anytime. Boy Scout Troop 49 sponsored by Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church delivered food that was donated by the residents of the church neighborhood to St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry. Scouts and leaders delivering the donations are Scoutmaster Todd Brinton, Jack Compton, Xzander Woomer, Chet Kowalski, Lucas Rivera, Cruz Rivera, James Weibley ,Isaac Maddox and Denny Woomer. Troop 49 meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday at 837 27th Street and welcomes new members. For more information, visit BeAScout.org.
