Altoona 28th Street Church of the Brethren, 2800 Union Ave., Altoona , will offer free lunch from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (or until gone) Saturday, May 14, at the church.
Homers Gap Civic Association will hold a picnic dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at 135 Preston Lane. Participants can eat in or take out. Cost is $10, which includes a ham and cheese sandwich (additional sandwiches available for $4 each), homemade macaroni salad, applesauce or pudding, chips and dessert.
