Hope Fire Company to host 9/11 service
The Hope Fire Company, Northern Cambria, will host a 20th Anniversary 9/11 Memorial
Service beginning at 8:15 a.m. Sept. 11 at Friedman Park.
The event includes a moment of silence and bell ringing at 8:45 a.m. It was at 8:46 a.m. that American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower.
A moment of silence and bell ringing will be held at 9:02 a.m. for United Airlines Flight 175 that crashed into the South Tower at 9:03 a.m.
At 9:36 a.m., a moment of silence and bell ringing will be held for American Airlines Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon at 9:37 a.m.
At 9:58 a.m., a moment of silence and bell ringing will be held as the South Tower collapsed at 9:59 a.m.
United Airlines Flight 93 crashed into a field in Shanksville at 10:03 a.m. A moment of silence and bell ringing will begin at 10:02 a.m. to commemorate that incident.
The 10:27 a.m. moment of silence and bell ringing will be for the North Tower collapse.
In addition to speakers during the event, The Keystone Regiment will play the Star Spangled Banner and Taps, while the American Legion will give a 21 gun salute.
