A card shower is being held for Katie Brunner, with the hopes of raising 100 cards by her 100th birthday on Aug. 31.
She was born Aug. 31, 1921, in Blandburg. She had eight brothers and eight sisters.
She married Bob Brunner. He died Aug. 13, 2005.
She has three daughters: Catherine Rumbarger of Greenwood, Clara Davis of Altoona and Mary Jeffrey in Florida. She has a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Brunner retired from James Industries, Hollidaysburg. She previously worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad, which recently presented her with a congratulatory certificate for reaching her 100th birthday.
She enjoyed going to bingo for many years.
