Bottle Works to hold Speedy Commitment, Vow Renewal Event
JOHNSTOWN — Love-birds looking to make a commitment to one another or renew their vows in a fun, speedy, semi-private ceremony can do so from
4 to 8 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Art Works Building-Main Galleries during its first Cherish the Day: Speedy Commitment Ceremony and Vow Renewal Event.
The Art Works Main Galleries will become a wedding chapel as couples from all backgrounds, who are 18 and older, sign up to declare or redeclare their love for one another in a fun, speedy 15-minute private ceremony with 10 of their closest friends.
“This Valentine’s Day, we want to celebrate love in a fun, new way,” said Melody Tisinger, director of advancement and operations. “For those who do not have the time to plan an entire recommitment ceremony, we got you covered.”
Non-denominational officiant Rachel Allen and other faith-based ministers will be onsite to preside over the ceremonies. These services are non-official.
Couples wishing to legally marry must follow the proper procedures with the Cambria County Clerk of Court. Time slots are available on a first come, first serve basis. The cost is $100 per couple for non-members; $75 per couple for BW members. To secure your time slot, guests are asked to register by phone with payment by Feb. 13. Walk-in weddings are welcomed if space allows. After the speedy nuptials, guests can enjoy complimentary drinks, refreshment and wedding cake in the Art Works’ Main Event Center.
“Participants are can make this an informal or a formal experience. If you want to wear a gown and tux, be our guest. But if T-shirt and jeans make you feel comfortable, we welcome that as well. Our main goal is to celebrate love in all its forms with the people you love the most.”
