Golf outing benefits Special Olympics
The Friends of Dave Baronner Memorial Golf Outing was held Oct. 13 at Iron Masters Country Club, Roaring Spring.
Proceeds of $5,500 was donated to Special Olympics of Blair County.
The money was used to help fund the local Special Olympians’ trip to Villanova earlier this month to participate in the Fall Festival, where athletes compete in a total of six Olympic-type sports including bocce, long distance running, powerlifting, roller skating, soccer and volleyball.
Organizers would like to thank golfers, sponsors and workers including Sandy Halerz, Deb O’Conner, Brittany and Shannon McDonough and Mike Spielvogle.
