Lower Trust awards $52,773 in grants to local nonprofits

Grants totaling $52,773.54 from the T. Dean Lower and Jane Young Lower Trust were made through the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation to three local nonprofit groups, including the Altoona Symphony Orchestra, the Altoona Community

Theater and the Blair County Arts Foundation.

The Altoona Symphony received a grant for $18,573.54 for its “I Want to Try That” and “Educational Outreach (Duet/Small Ensemble Performances/Programs and String Camp Programs.)

The Altoona Community Theater received a grant for

$14,200 for renovations to its rehearsal hall.

The Blair County Arts Foundation received a $20,000 grant for the restoration of the facade of the Mishler Theatre.
