Author plans visits

Lynn A. Haller of Duncansville, a trauma informed therapist, author and educator, has several book readings and events planned this summer.

Haller writes warm, affirming stories that help kids understand big feelings. Her picture book, “The Hallway of Doorknobs,” invites young readers to open a series of doors and meet emotions as friendly characters, blending simple social-emotional learning with imaginative play. Vivid, inclusive art and clear, gentle language make it a useful read for families and classrooms.

She will be at the Claysburg Area Public Library at 10 a.m. Thursday,

June 11, and at the Martinsburg Community Library at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3. Join Lynn for a book reading, a morning of storytelling for children and families. Young listeners will meet the characters behind each doorknob and explore the feelings inside, while parents and caregivers will hear how the book can spark everyday conversations about emotions at home. Each child will receive an activity sheet from The Hallway of Doorknobs Activity Book to take home.

Haller is partnering with Groove Fitness Studio, Rachel Bites, Balloons by Jaida, and Memory Lane & Co. for a Summer Kids Day the whole family will love. Two sessions are available: 1 to 3 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. Each session includes a live book reading with a free activity sheet, Kids Zumba, cookie decorating, a balloon activity and face painting. Tickets are $10 per child (ages 5-10), with siblings welcome for $5. Space is limited, so register early at groovefitnessstudio.com.

The book is $16.99 for paperback and $27.99 for hardcover. It is available at lynnahaller.com.

Starting at $2.99/week.
