On March 11, the female residents of the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg Independent Living held a tea at the Inglenook Apartments to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Penny Rupeka, independent living director, introduced retired Blair County Judge Jolene Kopriva, who was the featured speaker.
Judge Kopriva’s presentation included information on the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Judiciary.
She stressed the varying opinion of the people involved with the issues and the commitment on all sides.
In discussing her time on the bench, the judge emphasized it was her job to follow the law and to have the independence to do so.
At the conclusion of the event, Heather Loucks, PVH executive director, thanked Dorothy Fleming, Tracey Little and Lloyd Forshey for their efforts in the organizing the tea and offered prayer.
