Teachers from the Altoona Area and Hollidaysburg Area school districts took part in a Pennsylvania Education

Association Union rally at the state Capitol in Harrisburg to push for reducing class sizes, increasing state funding for schools and setting minimum passing scores for state tests.

The 46th annual Home and Garden Show opened at the Jaffa Mosque for a three-day run, sponsored by the Blair

County Chamber of Commerce and the Blair-Bedford Builders Association. More than 130 vendors were attending.
