The Bellwood-Antis music department will present “Little Shop of Horrors” as the district musical on March 26, 27 and 28.

Performances start at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium located at 400 Martin St.

“Little Shop of Horrors” is a comedy rock musical following the story of Seymour, a timid floral assistant at Mushnik’s Skid Row Florist. He longs to be noticed by Audrey, a pretty blonde coworker with a fashion sense that leans towards tackiness. When Seymour stumbles across a strange and interesting new plant he names Audrey II, it looks like he may get everything he’s ever wanted. Unfortunately, the plant has an unconventional thirst for something other than water — human blood. Seymour is faced with the tough decision of giving into Audrey II’s demands and continuing down the path to success or returning back to his simple life. Follow alongside a trio of 1960s street urchins named Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon as they discover the horrors unfolding throughout the show.

“It’s been interesting to see everyone’s personality shine through in the character they play,” said student Christian “Chug” Jennings, who plays Audrey II. “I’m most excited to let my personality show through in the form of a plant and to have the opportunity to show off my vocal talent.”

“I am thrilled to invite the community to Bellwood-Antis High School’s production of ‘Little Shop of Horrors.’ This fun, fast-paced musical comedy is packed with unforgettable music, big characters, and plenty of surprises,” said Molly Burns, director and choreographer of the show. “We can’t wait to share this show with our audience.”
