School/grade: Northern Bedford, 12th grade

Family: John McElgin, Connie McElgin and Rian McElgin (sister)

Chosen for: Kasey was selected to represent our school due to her academic excellence, as well as her strong character and leadership. She excels in the classroom, is actively involved in the life of the school and her community, is respectful in her interactions and has a phenomenal work ethic.

Accomplishments (Honors/Awards): High Honors, Presidential Award, Softball letters, FBLA national place winner, FBLA state place winner, FBLA regional champ, 3rd place rotary speech contest (school level), 2nd place VFW winner(district)

Future goals: To earn a business degree at Penn State University and attend law school to eventually become a sports agency attorney

Hobbies, community activities and interests: softball, girl’s wrestling statistician, working at Ritchey’s Dairy, FBLA Community Service Project, watching baseball, and spending time with my family and friends

Most influential teacher and why: Mr. Garry Black, Accounting/Business, has helped and guided me in my public speaking skills. He has also encouraged and strengthened my overall confidence in myself as a student and person.

Heroes: My mother is my greatest hero in every aspect of life. She has pushed me to be the best version of myself, and she has taught me that what you get out of life is what you put in. She has made every goal I’ve set in my life feel achievable and supported me through it all.

I’ve always been inspired by her hard work and dedication.
