Msgr. John J. Romaniello, 73, known as the "noodle priest" for his development of a high protein noodle used to fight malnutrition, was in Altoona to speak about the work of Catholic Relief Services. He had worked for 23 years in China.

Altoona officials ordered Robert R. Rajinish, 1301 Logan Blvd., Garden Heights, to remove a sign from his property that said "A-plus, Citizens for a Greater Altoona, We support family values" because it didn't meet zoning regulations. It was in opposition to a strip club across the street that never opened.

Master Gardeners Jacquelyn Forsht, Teresa Futrick and Robert Rhodes were holding three programs on GMO, or genetically modified organisms, at the Care for Creation Center on Monastery Road in Hollidaysburg, sponsored by the Franciscan Friars of St. Bernardine's Monastery.
