PennDOT, and not the city, was to begin milling and resurfacing of Fourth Avenue in Juniata, Sixth and Seventh Avenues and Route 36 to Red Hill in Altoona because they were state highways.

Altoona Police Chief Janice Freehling in her annual report said that the Act 47 inspired retirement of nine Altoona Police officers in 2012 led to an increase in crime in the city, seven percent for a category called "less serious."
