A person taking their driver's license test in a car owned by ABC Driving School struck the vehicles of two state troopers who were parked at the North Juniata Street police station, Hollidaysburg. The person flunked the test.

L. Robert Kimball and Associates, in cooperation with PennDOT, was to hand out traffic survey forms to motorists throughout Blair County to study the traffic patterns because of the proposed building of the new Blair County Convention Center, which required a connecting road between Logan Blvd. and Plank Road.

UPMC Altoona took delivery of a da Vinci Si Surgical System to perform minimally invasive operations like gallbladder surgery and many others. Dr. Matthew Newlin was medical director of the robotics program.
