Sale benefits after-school programs
Gloria Gates Memorial Foundation Yard Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at the Fairview Hills Community Center, 117 East Beech Court, Altoona. All proceeds benefit the Gloria Gates Memorial Foundation After-school programs.

Get Outdoors celebration planned
Prince Gallitzin State Park will celebrate National Get Outdoors Day from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at Muskrat Beach Area 2. Ray Clark will perform the first of the "Music at Muskrat 2023" concert series at 5 p.m.
This free outdoor recreation event will include a variety of stations, such as disc golf, birding/wildlife watching, fishing, archery, kayak instruction, guided hikes, pontoon boat tours of the lake, sailing, volunteering and more. Registration is not required, but limited spots are available for on-the-water activities.
All equipment is provided. Contact the park office at 814-674-1000 for information.

Blood transport specialists sought
The American Red Cross Pennsylvania Mountains Chapter needs volunteers to transport blood. Training is free. A virtual "lunch and learn" will be held from noon to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 8. In-person tours of the Red Cross Biomedical Processing Facility, 250 Jari Drive, Johnstown, are set for June 22. To register, contact Janel Young at 570-594-3217 or janel.young@redcross.org.
