Pedals Out Polio planned
The town is gearing up for the annual Pedals Out Polio bicycle rides, an event that unites riders from the region in support of Rotary's Global Polio Eradication Campaign.
Set to take place on Saturday, June 17, the event offers three routes catering to riders of all abilities.
For experienced cyclists, the challenging Jack's Mountain 50 covers a 47.7-mile road course with significant climbs and breathtaking scenery. Alternatively, a more relaxed country road ride along Penns Creek promises 22 miles of scenic views. Families and casual riders can opt for the family-friendly 9-mile self-guided adventure on the Buffalo Valley Rail Trail.
The suggested minimum donation per rider is $25 for adults and $5 for children under 12, all of which will be tax-deductible and directed towards Rotary's Global Polio Eradication Campaign. Donations of $1,000 or more will receive special recognition. Non-cyclists can also participate by making virtual donations online.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. in Mifflinburg Community Park, with the first 100 riders receiving a coupon for a discount at Rusty Rail Brewing Company and Restaurant.
