Local author: Roaring Spring author has her second book published in ‘Beyond’ series

Trisha Ridinger McKee of Roaring Spring has had the second book in her Beyond series, “Beyond the Dreams,” published, and it is available for purchase.

In the book, Lila knows life is not easy. As a young teenager, she survived her parents’ divorce and curbed her rebellious, angry ways.

Things were almost looking up. Her mother has gotten that fairy tale love, but now she is dragging her feet about wedding details.

And Lila’s father has moved on with his life and is pushing Lila away. Now as she starts a new journey, Lila has to face leaving her suddenly distant boyfriend behind as she goes away to college.

Heartbroken, she gets swept up in the freedom college life brings. But when she is distracted by Grant, a guy whose calmness soothes her and intensity makes her question all she thought she knew about love, she learns that life is not about to get any simpler.

McKee has a podcast called “Vox Vomitus,” where she discusses with writers the process of writing and what can go wrong in the process.

Past guests and scheduled guests include: James Rollins, Wendy Webb, Andrew Niederman (author of The Devil’s Advocate, and ghostwriter for VC Andrews).

Her first book, “Beyond the Surface,” has been nominated by Readers’ Choice (TCK Publishing) as best romance book of 2020.

McKee appeared on the local talk show “All About Town” on ABC23 on Dec. 3 to talk about her books.

The talk show features local talents, interests, and news.

McKee resides in Roaring Spring with her husband, daughter and bulldogs.

She grew up in Tipton, near Bland’s Park. A graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in English, she now works at the university as an instructional production specialist.

Since April 2019, her work has appeared in more than 50 publications, including Hybrid Fiction, Crab Fat Literary, The Oddville Press, J.J. Outre Review, several anthologies and more.

Her writing has won several awards, including nomination in the Best of the Net 2019 anthology.
