Altoona Mirror’s Bridal Bliss set for March 8: Check out the premier wedding planning event
Bridal Bliss, the Altoona Mirror’s premiere wedding planning event, takes place at the Altoona Grand Hotel March 8 with vendors who can help a special day come to life.
For Elisia Fisher and Luann Fisher, co-owners of Fisher’s Party Central in Martinsburg, the first-time Mirror event offers an opportunity to highlight rental options and a new photobooth to engaged couples.
Fisher’s Party Central offers couples a variety of options for their wedding venue including rental tables and chairs, table linens, tuxedos and ceremonial benches for attendees at outdoor ceremonies.
“Our wooden benches are very popular for outdoor venues such as at state parks,” Elisia Fisher explained. “They are very popular.”
In response to couples requests, Fisher’s will now offer a photobooth service designed to hit a more affordable price point. While the booth will furnish all props, a backdrop and provide a CD to the new husband and wife to enjoy, the new twist is guests have the option to have their individual photo sent to their cell phones.
“This way guests can share their photos to social media immediately,” she said. “Couples want to offer a photo booth experience but not at such a high price. We hope this offers an in-between option — an alternative — to more expensive booths.”
Elisia Fisher recommends couples who are interested in bench or photo booth rentals book early.
“The first of the year we typically get busy and we have a limited number of benches and one photobooth. September and October has become the busiest time of year for us. We still have a good many weddings in June but September and October are very popular, plus we have a lot of community and fall festivals, too,” she said.
Once the nuptials are completed, many couples look forward to a honeymoon. Attendees of Bridal Bliss will have an opportunity to win a honeymoon trip to Hawaii from Sundance Vacations.
“Sundance Vacations is proud to be a sponsor of upcoming Bridal Bliss wedding planning event,” said Carrie Hausherr, marketing director for Sundance Vacations, a discount travel company in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. “Those attending will have an opportunity to enter to win a honeymoon to Hawaii! Hawaii is the top US honeymoon destination according to tripsavvy.com. The list includes in order; 1. Hawaii, 2. New York, 3. Florida, 4. California, 5. Las Vegas and the Pennsylvania Poconos come in sixth. Additionally, if attendees are interested in learning more about the travel options offered by Sundance Vacations, they can visit one of our locations and receive a one week vacation that is good for a year at resorts across the globe. We’re very excited about participating at the event and helping newlyweds travel more and while spending less.”
A Johnstown business DJ Jack Labarko Inc. offers many more services than their business name conveys.
“We offer a wide variety of the most current and creative services for making your wedding a true reflection of your personality and style,” said Derek Labarko.
“Our services range from professional DJ/emcee services, unlimited personalized pre-event planning assistance, event production and coordination, lighting design solutions (up lighting, monogram projection, imagery projection, spot lighting), photo booth services, and multimedia enhancement options (photo slide shows, dance in the clouds effect).
