Mr. and Mrs. William King Sr. of Altoona celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a surprise party at their daughter’s home. They also will be taking a trip to Iceland and Finland.

They were married March 20, 1976, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Altoona, by Father John Lafferty. Mrs. King is the former Amy Muir.

The couple have two children: Janine Henahan (Jason) of Altoona and William King Jr. (Nikki) of Altoona. They also have two grandsons: Konnor King and Kameron King.

The couple are retired. Both did mission work with Salt & Light Youth Ministry.

Both are members of The Well of Blair County Church. They are avid campers with their dogs, Phoebe Grace and Eden Joy

Mrs. King is ministry director at her church, where she also leads a crochet ministry.

Mr. King is board director for the Little Juniata River Association and a past director of the John Kennedy Chapter of Trout Unlimited.
