Thomas and Linda (Cavalet) Mash of Altoona celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2024, at St. Aloysius Church Hall in Cresson.

The golden anniversary celebration was held by their children, Todd Mash and Angela (Mash) Partner and their son-in-law, Dennis Partner.

In lieu of gifts, the couple collected monetary donations to be made in their honor to the Central PA Humane Society and Mending Hearts Animal Rescue.

A total of $1,100 was collected by all of their family and friends who attended the event.

The couple was married on Sunday, Sept. 1, 1974, at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Frugality.

Thomas graduated from Windber High School and then joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He retired from the Army National Guard.

Linda graduated from Cresson Joint High School and eventually retired from Forever Broadcasting and Subway.
