The couple were married on Aug. 24, 1974, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Altoona, by Monsignor John Lafferty. Mrs. Slep is the former Susan Doyle.

The couple have two children: Jeffrey (Amber) and Amy Brady (Patrick).

They also have six grandchildren: Landon, McKenna and Sophia Slep and Logan, Jordan and Everly Brady.

After graduating from Altoona Area High School, Rich enlisted in the U.S. Army where he played trumpet in the U.S. Army Band. He was employed by the Altoona Mirror for many years in the Classified Department and retired from Fiore Toyota in auto sales.

After graduating from Bishop Guilfoyle High School, Susan was employed in the Circulation and Classified Advertising departments at the Altoona Mirror. She was lastly employed by the Altoona Area School District at the former Our Lady of Lourdes School.

Rich is a member of Providence Presbyterian Church, Altoona, and Susan attends Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

A surprise family picnic was hosted by their children and spouses.
