Mr. and Mrs. Louis C. Schmitt Jr. of Logan Township are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.
They were married on June 30, 1984, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Altoona. Mrs. Schmitt is the former Helen Shoup.
The couple have two daughters: Lauren Schmitt of Dormont and Heather Guirand of Frankstown Township.
They also have two grandchildren: Theodore and Sebastian Guirand.
Mr. Schmitt is an attorney who currently serves as State Representative for the 79th Legislative District.
Mrs. Schmitt is retired from the County of Blair.
Both are members of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Altoona.
