Mr. and Mrs. Richard Beere of 1025 Fifth Ave., Altoona, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday.
They were married Feb. 24, 1973, in Altoona. Mrs. Beere is the former Sharon McDowell.
The couple have one son, Scott (Melanie) of Altoona and five grandchildren: Meredith Streightiff, Sara Carr, Sherry Meek, Dane Beere and Cassy Beere. They also have six great-grandchildren.
The couple are retired.
They are members of New Life Church, East Freedom.
Mr. Beere served in the U.S. Marines, stationed in North Carolina.
