Mr. and Mrs. James H. Snyder Sr. of Altoona celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 1.
A surprise party was held at the Courtyard by Mariott of Altoona.
Josephine Snyder also celebrated her 80th birthday at the same time.
They were married Sept. 1, 1962, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Tyrone.
Mrs. Snyder is the former Josephine Geraci.
The couple have four children: Tammy Carroll (Rich) of Fleetwood; Terry Kaczorek (Ken) of Flemington, N.J.; James H. Jr. (Ally) of Hawthorn, N.J.; and Tracy Penn (Jim) of New Fairfield, Conn.
They also have five grandchildren: Matthew, Ashley, Hannah, Skylar and Lizzy; and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Snyder retired from Toys R Us in New Jersey and Altoona.
Mr. Snyder retired with 30 years service as a store manager at McCrory's and 15 years at Community Distributors, both in New Jersey.
