Ellen and James Bradley

Mr. and Mrs. James Bradley of Bedford celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 13 with a trip to the Smoky Mountains at Gatlinburg, Tenn., where they honeymooned 50 years earlier.

They were married on May 13, 1972, at Zion Lutheran Church, Hollidaysburg.

Mrs. Bradley is the former Ellen E. Davis of Hollidaysburg.

The couple have four children, Rachel Gutridge and husband Frank of Dillsburg; Rebekah Prochaska and husband Steve of Fairfax, lowa; Benjamin and wife Heather, of Bedford; Elizabeth Sabo and husband Zach of Bedford.

They also have five grandchildren, Paige Gutridge, Griffin Bradley and Lily, Emily and Noah Sabo.

Mr. Bradley retired from the Pennsylvania State Police after 26 years of service. He is also retired from the real estate profession.

He is a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division and with the 173rd Airborne Brigade during service in the Vietnam War.

Mr. Bradley is a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 57, Retired State Police Association of PA, American Association of State Troopers, The American Legion, Vietnam Veterans of America and the Bedford County Vietnam Veterans Association.

Mrs. Bradley was a homemaker and a former ballet teacher. She is a graduate of Dance Educators of America in New York City and taught ballet at the De Jul School of dance in Franklintown, Pa. She was later the director of the ballet program at the Hollidaysburg YMCA.

Jim and Ellen are active members of St. Paul's Reformed Church, Cessna.
