Trudy and David White

Mr. and Mrs. David White of the Outer Banks, N.C., formerly of Canoe Creek, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a vow renewal ceremony at Raystown Lake Resort.

They were married June 23, 1972, at Foot of Ten Independent Bible Church, Duncansville. Mrs. White is the former Trudy Nagle. The historical Hurricane Agnes crested on that Friday night.

The couple have three daughters: Amisha Wertz (Landon) of Hollidaysburg, sons Lane and Lawson, Holly Nichols (Rick) of Hollidaysburg, children Trevor, Tanner and Teagan. Taren Walter and daughters Alivia, Jayda and Elainna.

They have eight grandchildren: Lane, Lawson, Trevor, Tanner, Teagan, Alivia, Jayda and Elainna and several great-grandchildren.

Both Dave and Trudy graduated from Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School. Dave went on to graduate from Penn State University in 1973 with a bachelor of science degree in forest science.

He later retired as a Pennsylvania State Trooper from Hollidaysburg Troop G in 2005.

Trudy retired from Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 in 2015 as a sign language interpreter.

The couple volunteer at Elizabethan Gardens.

They enjoy hosting visitors and hand-feeding seagulls.
