Mr. and Mrs. Dennis J. Ratosky Sr. of Portage celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 12, 2021.
They were united in marriage on June 12, 1971, at Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Portage by Father Bob Bayusik and Father Paul Tyger, uncle of Dennis.
Mrs. Ratosky is the former Kathleen M. Crynock.
Both Denny and Kathy grew up in Benscreek, the small community outside of Portage.
Denny's career path was with Bethlehem Steel Corp. in Johnstown, Horseshoe Curve in Altoona and maintenance for Portage Area High School.
Kathy worked at Publix Shirt Factory in Gallitzin, Seddloff-Star Print Publications in Portage and the Portage Area High School cafeteria. Both Denny and Kathy are now enjoying retirement.
The couple have two children, Sheri (deceased) and Denny Jr. and two grandchildren, Brady and Braxton Ratosky.
To celebrate their milestone, a 50th anniversary surprise party was held for family and friends at the Benscreek Social & Citizens Club, Portage Township on June 5.
