Supporting the Food Bank
Mount Aloysius College student, faculty and staff volunteers gather at the end of the “Stuff the MAC Shack Mobile Food Truck” food drive on the Mount Aloysius campus Friday, Nov. 14. Mount Aloysius students, faculty and staff, along with members of the surrounding communities, recently worked together to “Stuff the MAC Shack Mobile Food Truck” with donations for a local food bank. Mount students staffed the truck Nov. 13 and 14 while donations rolled in. The project was spearheaded by the college’s Criminology Club, with help from the Psychology Club, Campus Ministry, Student Affairs and Athletics. The organizing groups shared on their event flyer that the event was “grounded in compassion and justice … responding to a moment of increased need by ensuring access to food for all members of our community.” The groups estimated that more than 10,000 donated food items were received, which were delivered to the Altoona Food Bank.
