In commemoration of America's 250th anniversary and to honor Pennsylvania's long tradition of educational leadership, America250PA recently announced the launch of the Semiquincentennial Scholarship Program, awarding $250,000 in scholarships to deserving Pennsylvania high school seniors entering in-state colleges and universities for the 2026-27 academic year
The program will provide twenty-five $10,000 scholarships, distributed across America250PA's six designated regions. Up to 12 scholarships will be awarded to Pennsylvania community colleges, and up to 13 scholarships will support students attending other accredited post-secondary colleges and universities in the Commonwealth
Scholarship recipients will be selected based on a demonstrated understanding of civic values as Pennsylvania prepares to mark 250 years of American independence in 2026. Awards will be made in April 2026 for use during the 2026/2027 school year.

This program honors that legacy by investing in our students -- the next generation of leaders, teachers, builders and dreamers who will shape the next 250 years. Every scholarship is both recognition of their potential and an invitation to carry the story of our Commonwealth into the future."
The Semiquincentennial Scholarship Program is made possible in part through the support of Pennsylvania's colleges, universities and community partners who have pledged to match America250PA's investment, amplifying its impact for students across the Commonwealth.
The application period runs from Sept. 16, 2025, through Jan. 31, 2026.
Applicaitons will be reviewed from Feb. 1 to March 15, and notifications will be sent out by March 30. Scholarships will be awarded in April 2026 for the 2026-27 academic year.
A luncheon honoring awardees will be held in late April in Harrisburg.
