Big Ten won’t expand basketball conference tourney field

From Mirror, wire reports ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Big Ten plans to stick with a 20-game conference schedule for men’s basketball and an 18-game schedule for women’s basketball when the league expands to 18 teams next year. The league also announced Tuesday that 15 of the 18 members will qualify for the Big Ten men’s and women’s basketball tournaments once Southern California, UCLA, Oregon and Washington arrive from the Pac-12. Marisa hits milestone in PSU’s victory

From Mirror, wire reports EVANSTON, Ill. — Penn State senior guard Makenna Marisa surpassed the 2,000-point career scoring mark with a layup in the third quarter, ultimately finishing with 20 points as the Lady Lions picked up a 76-65 win over Northwestern Thursday night. Report: OSU hiring O’Brien

Ohio State will name Bill O’Brien as its new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, a source told The Columbus Dispatch Thursday. O’Brien, who coached Penn State for two years following the firing of longtime coach Joe Paterno, served as offensive coordinator for the New England Patriots this season.
