Judith E. Rains, 78, of Altoona, passed away Friday morning. She was born in Birmingham, Ala. She is survived by her two sons, Eric Rains and Christopher Rains (Tracy); her daughter, Marcy Rains; daughter-in-law, Sherri Rains; two grandchildren, Jacob and Chelsea Mathieu; a sister, Royce Kennedy; and Bart Rains. Judy was preceded in death by her son, Barry Rains. She retired from Goodwill and previously was the manager of Walden Books. Judy enjoyed reading. At the request of the family, there will be no visitation or service. Arrangements are by The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.
