Nancy Ann Jones, 79, Altoona, died Tuesday afternoon at UPMC Altoona after a prolonged illness. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Nozie J. and Johanna (Vigliotti) Calabrese.
On Feb. 4, 1967, she married Patrick T. Jones at Sacred Heart Church, Altoona.
Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years; her children: Patrick T. Jones II and wife, Carolyn; Dr. Scott E. Jones and wife, Susan; Jennifer A. Hite and husband, A. James; Adam T. Jones and wife, Amanda; and Stephanie A. Suppa and husband, John J.; and 20 grandchildren.
She was a graduate of Altoona High School, Penn State University - Altoona and Altoona Hospital School of Nursing.
Nancy retired as a registered nurse from Altoona Hospital and provided nursing care in a variety of nursing specialties, including pediatrics, private duty and psychology.
She was a member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona. She also held membership at the Women's Club of Altoona, Altoona Hospital Private Duty Nurses Assoc. Inc. and Homers Gap Civic Assoc. Inc.
Nancy was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was the matriarch of the family and especially enjoyed celebrating birthdays, holidays and special occasions with her family.
Nancy enjoyed her bridge card club, reading, baking and cooking. She was always up for a phone call, loved watching movies, television and playing cards and games with her grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2025, at the former Jones Funeral Home, 1222 13th Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will also be held.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, with the Rev. Monsignor Stanley Carson, celebrant. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
