Lawrence A. "Red" "Sonny" Garner, 84, of La Jose, passed away Tuesday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Williamsburg, son of the late Charles and Ella (Sparr) Garner.
He married Alta Pearl Farber on Oct. 25, 1963.
Surviving is the love of his life of 61 years, Alta Pearl; a daughter, Dawn Showers, and husband, Mike, of Aspers; a son, Larry, and wife, Karen, of La Jose; a granddaughter, Victoria Wisor, and husband, Andrew, of DuBois; a sister, Faye Rowan in Delaware; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, James Rowan in Delaware.
Red attended the Williamsburg High School class of 1959.
He owned and operated Garner Septic Services & Porta John Rentals and spent many years as a pallet repair man.
Red was a former member of the West Loop Sportsmen's Club, Geeseytown Fire Company, Williamsburg Church of God and Geeseytown Fire Company Bowling Team.
He enjoyed riding his side by side, "Francis the Kawaski Mule," fishing, coin collecting and spending time with his family.
