BEDFORD -- Bedford scored a first half goal and blanked Hollidaysburg, 1-0, in the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference girls soccer championship game on Saturday.
The Lady Bisons improved to 17-1 and also beat Hollidaysburg, 2-1, in the regular season matchup on Sept. 24.
The Lady Tigers fell to 13-5-1.

Altoona second
LOCK HAVEN -- The Altoona junior high girls cross country team finished second at the Lock Haven MIddle School championships in a field of 32 teams.
Altoona's Emma Etters placed second in 11:38.7, and Raya Potts was 16th in 12:11. The top 25 runners earned medals in the 168-girl field.

JV Spikers fall
STATE COLLEGE -- The Altoona JV girls volleyball team participated in the Jack O'Lantern Jam at the Nittany Valley Center.
The Lady Spikers lost in the gold quarterfinals with a 3-5 record on the day.
In pool play, Altoona split with Bellefonte, 27-25, 24-26, defeated Christian School of York, 25-16, 25-18 and lost to Clarion, 27-25, 25-20. DuBois defeated Altoona, 15-9, 15-11, in the gold quarterfinals.
Sophia Knorr had 22 kills, 23 digs and five aces, Maraya Bittner dished out 33 assists, 30 digs and six aces, Marina Petucci had 53 digs, and Selena Lopez-Oakes had 24 assists, 14 digs and four aces.

BCC finishes third
STATE COLLEGE -- Blair County Christian topped Johnstown Christian, 7-5, after outkicking Johnstown Christian, 3-1, in penalty kicks after the teams played to a 4-4 tie after two overtimes in the third-place game at the Allegheny Christian Athletic Association girls soccer championship tournament on Saturday.
Blair County Christian finished 15-1-1.
