Butterbaugh keeps residents at heart
Several years ago, my aunt bought a home on Eighth Street in Altoona, after the passing of her husband.
She lived there without any problems until Altoona City Code Enforcement sent her a letter, saying she had to remove a tree from the sidewalk adjacent to her property or be evicted from her home.
Mind you, this is among a group of trees the city planted more than 20 years ago as part of a beautification project funded by Ernie Wissinger.
I contacted Butterbaugh in hopes that he may be able to help. Almost immediately, he showed up at my aunt’s home, so he could look her in the eye and offer comfort and support.
He was in contact with the mayor about the policy, so my aunt didn’t lose her home and wasn’t responsible for the tree.
I strongly recommend Dave Butterbaugh to be re-elected to City Council.
