Plans being finalized for show
The Blair County Chamber of Commerce and the Blair-Bedford Builders Association are finalizing plans for the 50th edition of the Home Garden & Healthy Living Showcase to be held Feb. 28, 29 and March 1 at the Jaffa Shrine Center in Altoona.
New to the 2020 show is a healthy living component, which will feature exhibitors highlighting products and services focused on healthy lifestyles. As in the past, experts in the field of home building, remodeling and gardening will be on-hand to answer questions and showcase their products. More than 120 exhibitors have already signed-on to participate.
Show hours are 1 to 8 p.m. Feb. 28, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 29 and noon to 4 p.m. March 1.

Pesticide, safety training set
Bedford, Blair and Huntingdon County Farm Bureaus and Nationwide Insurance will be hosting three member benefits, pesticide applicators and safety trainings.
The sessions will be held: 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. March 4 at the Bedford Township Building, 1007 Shed Road, Bedford; 6:30 to 9:15 p.m. March 4 at West Central Equipment, 2555 Cove Mountain Road, Martinsburg; and 12:45 to 3:15 p.m. March 5 at B&D Farms, 3121 Huntingdon Furnace Road, Tyrone.
