2 injured in shooting at football game

FORT WORTH — Police in Texas said two people were injured when gunfire erupted at a youth football game.

Authorities said a woman was struck in the leg and a girl was grazed in the back when shots rang out during the game among elementary school-aged children Saturday afternoon in Fort Worth. Both were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.


Officials: Deputies fatally shoot man

OOLTEWAH — Officials said Tennessee deputies have fatally shot a man who pointed a weapon at them.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said in a statement that six Hamilton County deputies responded Saturday to a report of a suicidal man in Ooltewah. The statement said deputies shot 76-year-old James Hilton Glaze when he pointed the weapon at responding officers. Glaze died at the scene.

The deputies who shot Glaze were not identified.

The bureau said it will investigate the shooting and turn over any evidence to the local prosecutor’s office.
