Piper sparks Altoona ice hockey
The Altoona Area High School ice hockey team improved to 2-1 Tuesday night, thanks to a 6-1 win over Johnstown at Galactic Ice.
The Mountain Lions blew the game wide open with four goals in the final period in a game they led, 2-1 after two frames.
Altoona got a hat trick from Owen Piper to go with solo goals from Parker Mirobelli, Elijah Stroup and Connor Stivers. Piper also finished with an assist.
Mountain Lion goalie Seth Conrad stopped 11 of 12 shots on goal. Altoona finished with 61 shots on goal.
Next up for Altoona is a game at Central Cambria on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
