STATE COLLEGE — Thanks in part to a 75 from Crosby Denis, the Hollidaysburg girls golf team finished tied for third in the PIAA Class 3A girls team golf championships at the Penn State Blue Course on Wednesday.

Lucy Carles carded an 87, and Maliah Malausky shot a 91 to round out the Lady Tigers’ 253 score that tied them with Mount St. Joseph and Fox Chapel.

Conestoga won the PIAA championship by shooting a 228, and Peters Township was the runner-up with a 232.

Bishop Guilfoyle Academy finished eighth, just one stroke behind York Catholic, in the PIAA Class 2A boys team championship played at the Penn State White Course.

Aidan Sheehan, Grant Okonak, Troy Nachtman and Carter Boland each shot a 79 for the Marauders to make up their team score of 316.

Scranton Prep won the state title with a 6-under par 282.

In Class 3A boys, Unionville edged out State College and Radnor by one stroke to win an extremely close championship. Unionville finished 2-under par, and both Radnor and State College were 1-under as a team.

In Class 2A girls, West Middlesex took home the title with a 237.

Westmont Hilltop finished fifth, and River Valley was eighth.
