Laurel Highlands releases all-conference teams

The Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference released its All-Conference high school football teams for both the east and west, featuring players from several area teams.

First-team selections for the east squad features — on offense — Bishop Guilfoyle’s Hamilton Gates and Joe Eckenrode, along with Central’s Jay Hoenstine and Bellwood-Antis’ Kayden Pellegrine. On defense, it was Gates and Eckenrode again with BG teammates Jake Kissell, Taurean Consiglio and Tyson Lestochi. Central’s Lucas Black and Eli Muthler also made the team.

For the west squad offense, Penn Cambria was represented by Logan Price, Matthew Eckenrode, Preston Farabaugh, Derek Hite, Gavin Harrold and Jack Eckenrode. Defensive team members include, from Penn Cambria, Mason Mento, Hite and Harrold.

Second-team members on the east squad offense included Bellwood-Antis’ Hunter Kyle, Jayce Quick and Christian Jennings, Tyrone’s Seth Hoover and Eli Woomer and BG’s Jake Kissell, Braden Reilly, Chase Kissell, Gates, Nick McCloskey and Michael Cacciotti. On defense, it was B-A’s Pellegrine and Jennings, Tyrone’s Woomer and BG’s Chase Kissell.

For the west squad offense, making it for Penn Cambria was Brock Fredack, Dayne Summerville, Brady Jones, Harrold, and on defense, it was Preston Farabaugh, Thomas Plunkett, Marcus Eckenrode and Central Cambria’s Grady Snyder.

Honorable mention status for the east offense include Tyrone’s Kayden Ansman, Cian Hockenberry, Trent Adams and Dante Novack, followed by BG’s Hayden Hosgood, Gates and Consiglio, B-A’s Jackson Grassmyer along with Central’s Muthler and Thaide Mickel.

Making it on defense were Tyrone’s Hockenberry and Woomer, Central’s Bronson Myers and Kaden Horn, BG’s McCloskey and B-A’s Kyle Griffin.

Earns spots for the west offense were Penn Cambria’s Plunkett and Fredack and on defense, it was Corbin Vinglish and Blake Nadolsky with Central Cambria’s Ian Estep.
