Northern Bedford controls Tussey in earning big victory

SAXTON — Griffin Keller had a 40-yard pass from Haden Reyan in the second quarter for the game’s opening touchdown in Northern Bedford’s 22-6 win over Tussey Mountain on Monday in junior varsity football.

Jestin Fernandez ran in the two-point conversion for the Black Panthers in what would eventually be the game-winning points.

Kainen Baker and Brooks Snider each scored rushing touchdowns for Northern Bedford.

The Titans’ Devin Swope recovered a fumble in the third quarter and returned it 35 yards for Tussey’s only points of the contest.

Gibbons returned a punt 53-yards for a score and hauled in a Zach Pellegrine pass for a 23-yard TD.

Zach Pellegrine also tossed a touchdown pass to Dylan Wilson, for the Blue Devils.

Kyle Pheasant’s 90-yard run in the fourth quarter was the exclamation point on a big offensive day for Altoona in its win over Chambersburg.

Edwin Franklin had a 55-yard run in the first quarter to get the Lions going.

Pheasant also caught a 40-yard touchdown from quarterback Aiden Steinbugl for the Mountain Lions.
