LIGONIER — Senior wide receiver Aaron Tutino scored on a 59-yard pass from quarterback John Coldwell in the first quarter to set a new state record for touchdown receptions for a career as Ligonier Valley poured on the points in a win over Northern Cambria.

Tutino scored again on a 15-yard toss from Coldwell to give Ligonier Valley a 28-7 lead at halftime and increase his career total for touchdown grabs to 56.

HARRSIBURG — State College running back Dresyn Green caught a 62-yard pass from Tommy Friberg for a second-quarter touchdown and ran for a 58-yard score in the fourth as the Little Lions got back on track with a win over Central Dauphin in Mid-Penn Commonwealth Division game.

State College capitalized on a Ram fumble that Jimmy Maynak returned for a touchdown with just one second left in the first quarter.

Friberg also ran in for six from just one yard away to close the first half, and finished the day 10-of-13 passing for 131 yards and two touchdowns, including a 14-yard pass to Penn State verbal commit Keaton Ellis.

Adam Burkhart ran for 194 yards on 28 carries for Central Dauphin.

WINGATE — Something had to give between a battle of unbeatens.

Bald Eagle Area (7-1) gave up three turnovers as Clearfield (8-0) took advantage in a 42-7 rout.

Isaac Rumery recorded three touchdowns — two passing and one rushing — and was 7-for-10 through the air for 202 yards for Clearfield. Brett Zattoni (2) and Caleb Freeland (1) accounted for the other Bison’s scores. Taye Lynch led Clearfield in receiving with three receptions for 123 yards and Freeland finished the night with nine carries for 111 yards on the ground.

Bald Eagle Area’s Jaden Jones scored the lone touchdown of the night for the Eagles on a 12-yard quarterback keeper.

NEW PARIS — Jared McGill scored on three short touchdown runs as part of a big night on the ground for Chestnut Ridge, as the Lions held Bishop McCort off the board until late in the fourth quarter for a win over the Crushers.

McGill led the offensive attack with 134 yards on 24 carries, and quarterback Logan Pfister also ran for 105 yards on 13 carries, including a 65-yard scamper for a score in the third quarter.

JOHNSTOWN — Trevor Tustin hauled in four passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns as Richland routed Bedford in Laurel Highlands conference action.

Rams quarterback Joe Hauer completed 12-of-18 passes and threw for 311 yards, while Richland running backs Spencer Reed, Zack Vogelsberger and Jodan Kocsis each ran for at least 50 yards. Richland out-gained Bedford on the ground, 197-183, but only needed half as many carries as the Rams only ran the ball 23 times to Bedford’s 49.

MEYERSDALE — Connor Price ran for 157 yards on 19 carries and scored two touchdowns on the ground along with a completed touchdown pass in the second quarter to help lead Portage past Meyersdale in a nail-biter.

Meyersdale quarterback Mahlon Reese threw for 185 yards but was picked off four times, and finished the day with 12-of-22 completions. Devin Kretchman also ran for 194 yards on 28 carries in a losing effort.

Cole Sossong returned an interception 46 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter that gave the Mustangs a chance at closing the game out.
