Woodruff has memorable night for Lady Pirates

WILLIAMSBURG — Jayla Woodruff had a career-high 26 points and 10 rebounds Tuesday night as the Williamsburg girls basketball team downed Tussey Mountain, 60-44, in high school action.

The Lady Pirates, 8-3 overall, jumped out to a 17-7 lead in the first en route to a 31-11 halftime lead. Ayla Hileman chipped in with 16 points for Williamsburg.

Tussey Mountain, which dropped to 10-4, got 22 points from Kailee Leonard.

Lady Highlanders fall

PATTON — Bryce Burkey scored 16 points to lead Cambria Heights, which fell to 4-8 on the season following a loss to River Valley.

Sienna Kirsch and Malina Gaida each added 10 points for the Lady Highlanders. Ava Persichetti scored a game-high 26 points for River Valley.

Panther boys defeated

LOYSBURG — Northern Bedford’s boys fell to 4-9 with a 59-57 loss to Fannett-Metal in high school action.

Cullen Lloyd’s 19 points were tops for Northern, which trailed, 34-24, at halftime. Mason Detterline and Jestin Fernandez each scored 10 points for the Panthers, who trailed, 46-43, going into the final frame.
