Whiteford comes up big for Heights

EBENSBURG — Bernie Whiteford scored 27 points Wednesday night to lead Cambria Heights to a 70-55 win over Central Cambria in boys high school basketball action.

The Highlanders (5-7) also got 14 points from Preston Lamb and 11 more from Luke Lamb.

The Red Devils (2-11) got 17 points from Hobbs Dill to go with 13 from Ian Little.

PC clinches No. 4 seed

CRESSON — Penn Cambria rallied from a 14-point fourth quarter deficit to defeat Richland, 60-59, after a layup from Connor Karabinos with 12.9 seconds left.

Mason McCarthy scored 23 points for the Panthers, who clinched the No. 4 seed in the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference playoffs and will travel to Johnstown tonight.

Trent Rozich led Richland with 16 points.
